In part 1 of my application, I said I would be applying to the school of business. However, on Monday I would like to call the office and change it to SFS.

I already set up an appointment with my interviewer--do they set you up with interviewers that correlate to what school you said you would be applying to?

And when I get to the interview, how do I know who he is?

Honestly, I’m not sure if the interviewer is specifically chosen because they’re an alumnus/a of the school you’re. I’m currently in the middle of my application (Part II), and there is a section in which they ask you which school you’re applying to, so the school you choose in Part I isn’t set in stone.

As for finding the interviewer - you could always try to get to the meeting place early and observe which people show up around the designated time? I actually haven’t thought about that, and my interview is Sunday!

I think you should contact them. A friend of mine is also applying to Georgetown but he got someone from the business school because that’s the one he’s applying to, and I got an alumnus from SFS because that’s the school I’m applying to. It might not be that big of a deal, but the interview is definitely more beneficial to you if the interviewer is someone with similar interests.

I honestly don’t think it matters because I had my interview last week, and the alumnus I spoke to attended Georgetown MEDICAL school. I think Georgetown just tries to connect you with someone who’s in the area.

I had my interview for Georgetown last week, and the guy I met was a business major who graduated in 1970. I’m applying to the College with a major in biology, and I easily knew more about Georgetown today than he did. He even asked me if they had a football team…

My point: The interview isn’t a HUGE deal. From what I could tell, it was just to see what kind of person I am (personality, interest in the school, etc) and it was a really casual conversation. No drilling questions, just an hour of talking about what I am looking forward to in the future. If you really want to go to Georgetown, don’t stress too much about the interview; it will be obvious to the alumnus that you are interested.
