How important are the alumni interviews? Are they weighted at all in the decision process?

If you don't get an interview I don't think it'll affect you negatively. If you are offered an interview and turn it down, it'll hurt you quite a bit--many people who want interviews don't even get one!

The reason I'm asking is becuase I had mine today and it went really really well, and was just wondering if that should have a positive effect on their choice regarding my acceptance.

yeah, my penn one was my best, and before it i wasn't super serious about penn, but now i'm excited...but my why Penn essay was kind of generic...whould a great interview make up for that? & did you guys send thank you cards, and what did you write in them if so? thanks :)

I wrote a thank you e-mail, because that's how my interviewer contacted me about the interview to begin with. I'd suggest writing some sort of "thank you" note...although it won't make a difference to whether or not you get in, it shows your interviewer that you're a considerate preson. Plus, it can never hurt to strive for brownie points :)

My mom interviews kids (I'm about to start)- they really don't make much difference either way. It's really more of a way for kids to learn more about the school.
