good luck! tell them everyone on CC deserves to get in. i just sent in my cornell app today :).

good luck to both of you. i have one more year left...

yay! I survived.

How was it?

very informal. He talked most of the time. He just asked about what activities I do, how I found out and decided I liked Cornell and what I was majoring in. He also asked about what I want to do after college. He mostly talked and told me why cornell was so great and he even said that for ED they already know you really want Cornell so the alumni meeting is more for the student to learn more about Cornell.

I am one of those alums (I handle Dubai applicants). The purpose of the "interview" is definitely an exchange of information, mostly from the alum to the applicant. It has no bearing on the outcome of the application whatsoever. There is absolutely no reason to be nervous about it. It really is very casual.

The Cornell Interviews are most like conversations. Nothing is written down, it's completely chill. My guy ran 400m at Cornell so we talked athletics for a while and about his major, architecture, before discussing my interests. Cornell just wants you to have a good idea about the school. Maybe they want to put you in a nice mindset before decisions come out? =)
