I am an international applicant, and I received an interview request from a Harvard alumni living in the same country. However, he is a resident in another city (~4 hrs by car away), and he gave me the option of meeting him in his city or having our interview online. Is one better than the other, or are both of the methods exactly the same?
Four hours is a long way to travel for an interview. I would take your interviewer up on their offer of an on-line interview. FWIW: last year several international applicants in countries that didn’t have alumni interviewers had Skype interviews directly Admissions Officers and were accepted. So, an on-line interview is probably exactly the same as an in-person interview.
You can eliminate “probably” from the above sentence.
@ahmedsheta - except if you prefer doing it in person. Some people think they come across better in person than on Skype.
Should you travel 4 hours one way to an interview which means practically nothing? Adults’ replies are NO. A fellow high schooler says MAYBE.
@ahmedsheta - how was your interview?
@MedSciBud I will have it this Thursday, online.
Sorry, I forgot to thank you all for your helpful feedback. Thank you!
@ahmedsheta - good luck. Keep us posted.
