Interview in India = Good or Bad?

India is on the list of countries where Harvard will only contact you if they "need to know more". Does this generally indicate that getting an interview is a good or a bad thing? Also, I got one NOW... a bit late isn't it? Just a bit worried because Harvard is one of my top choices.

I think it’s a good thing. They want to make sure, maybe?

Good luck!

Harvard makes a point of going out of its way to get its busy alum to interview international applicants who obviously do not qualify for admission…

Not!

Haha, thanks QuasiProfound and Northstarmom. I feel a bit silly now :P

Officially, it has no effect whatsoever on your chances, but I guess they wouldn’t say it if there was one anyway, so in reality interviews DO mean you are in a better position ;-)

Also, since you are applying as a US citizen, the mechanics will be different for you…

did u apply before dec 1st priority?

OMG I am having the same interview!!! so excited, hope it does mean something :D

cheers and good vibes from Peru!!!

Goodluck!
still waiting

Nope… I applied like 2 days before January 1st :stuck_out_tongue: (call me a procrastinator)
Thanks macarenaps  best of luck to you!

I applied a few mins before the deadline :S

definitely good thing! what i wonder is, how much of the indian applicant pool do they weed out before the interview round?

Technically, she applied as a US citizen (check her previous posts).

@Tres Elefantes: Please don’t send our hopes crashing to the ground. Many Indian Applicants, including me, did not get the interview.

oh, sorry. :\ didn’t mean to scare you… i don’t know much about it.

Is it possible that an international applicant who didn’t receive an interview gets admitted while applicants who received an interview don’t? =S

bumppppppp

bump 10char

I think it happened in previous years, but the situation might have changed this year because Harvard is now using online tools to interview applicants.

@Tres- VERY few get an interview. not more than 10 I assume. Also, I still think it is ‘possible’, however unlikely.
