Interview issue..

I had my MIT interview today. EC thought it started at 3:00, I thought we had planned for 3:30... I showed up at 3:15, and he asked if there was a problem that caused me to be "late". I explained that I thought it started at 3:30, and he said it wasn't a big deal. The rest of the interview went really well. We had scheduled it over the phone, so there is no documentation of what time we actually should have started.

I know he said it was fine and I'm probably overthinking this, but I don't want a misunderstanding to hurt my application... should I do anything in response to this or just let it go?

I don’t think there’s anything you can do about it now. If it honestly seemed like he liked you, and the social interaction felt smooth, then there was probably no damage. There is a wide variety of people at MIT, and plenty of us are scatterbrained and not punctual. If it is he who is scatterbrained and not punctual, which it sounds like it might be, he will not care that you were not, in his twisty perception of time, on time. If it is both of you, then that is fantastic, and I hope your interview was as fun as it always is for me to happen upon another person who is as jumpy in conversation as I am. If it is just you, then I’m sorry–some people hate us, some people like us, but the good news is that, again, we exist at MIT and we fit in at MIT and so I hope it won’t hurt your interview.
