I created my myMIT account in October and forgot about it in the midst of my early applications. When I accessed it again in the beginning of December as I read about the interview for the first time, I realized that my interview had been waived. Since I really wanted to have the interview, I emailed Admissions asking for it and I was appointed an EC promptly. After I contacted the EC, I was told to complete Part I of the application. After doing so I followed up with my EC, and I was informed that there were no more interview slots available with any EC in the region and I will not be at a disadvantage for not having an interview. I replied to the email but have received no answer yet, possibly due to the approaching winter break.
What am I supposed to do now? Should my interview be “waived” again? Which option should I mark in the application section which asks about the interview if my request is supposed to be waived but isn’t before Jan 1 2016?
Also, I’m skeptical about being not being at a disadvantage because if others from my region have had an interview and I haven’t, then they as their application has a component (which might definitely benefit them) which my application doesn’t.
Note: 1) I am an international applicant.
2) Although I followed up after the December 10 deadline, I put in my initial request to the EC prior to the deadline and hence my request was valid. (This note is just to put a timeline on the above anecdote)
