In my interview I briefly mentioned another college I was visiting that day when they asked what else I had planned. It was at the very end of the interview and I made it casual. I had already spoken so much about how much I loved the school I was interviewing at and the rest of the interview went well. Did I just ruin my chances there with that one slip up?

They’re considering other applicants; you’re considering other colleges. You know that and they know that. No problem.

^^^^ Correct.

The only time, it is said, that this could hurt is if you mention a much “higher level” school. Then “Tufts” happens.

Great. That’s a relief!

I mentioned that I had applied to MIT and Caltech during an interview for a prestigious scholarship only to be used at an Arizona state school (however, they asked me, “which other colleges are you applying to”). I felt like, “darn.”
