Interview Mishap

So, I had an interview tonight for a university and it was held a fair distance away from my home. I found the address of the cafe online and used my gps to get there. I got to the location about 10 minutes before it was set to start, but it took me 5 minutes of searching to realize that the gps had sent me to the wrong place due to the address being incorrect on the internet, and I promptly called my interviewer and explained my predicament and that I was now heading to the correct location. I arrived 10-15 minutes late, which I feel horrible about. However, the interview went fantastic and she kept saying how superb of a write up she was going to do and how I would do so great at this school. Do you think my late arrival will factor at all into her write up or into her impression of me, even though she kept saying that it was totally fine and to not worry about it? I’m sort of freaking out.

What’s done is done. There is no point in worrying about something you have no control over.

Move on, start preparing for the next interview if you have one, and if not, enjoy the rest of your senior year.

Wish you the best of luck!

Why would she pretend to be enthusiastic about giving you a good write-up? Interviewers are humans, too, and that’s something you had no control over as rdeng2614 said.

Don’t worry about it. It’s unlikely to have any negative impact. It wasn’t your fault and you gave advance notice that you’d be late, showing that being on time is important to you.

Relax.

It’s fine. Stop freaking out. Good interview is good interview.

You handled the whole situation exactly right. You called to say why you were running late. Don’t worry.

Relax. You handled a difficult situation well. The interviewer would have no reason to lie about what the write-up would be like --he/she could just as easily said “goodbye, it was nice to meet you”.

Yup, if you hadn’t called, it would be a problem. But Inthink you are probably fine.

Seems fine. Real life problem, real life (good) solution. If you’re feeling truly freaked out, send a thank-you note, thanking them for their time, information, and graciousness in accommodating your gps mishap.
