Interview not a factor?

Hello. I've applied to Middlebury and have had an interview in early Februrary with a local alumni. The interaction between the inteviewer and me was very pleasant, and I was told by the interviewer that he was to write a report to the college. He seemed like me and said I would be a good match to the school. While he will probably write a good report for me, I do not know how much weight is put on the interview at Middlebury.

I've looked on Midd's online common data set, and it appeared that interview is "not considered" in the admissions process. Does anyone have any information about this? If it's not considered, is it because the college cannot give every applicant an interview? And if I had an interview, will the report written by the interviewer be considered at all?

Thank you.

Look at thread below, titled "Interviews?!"

Interview will not get you in or keep you out by itself, but if interviewer says you'd be a good fit, he/she probably means it and will be a plus for you. Think about it. If you're an admissions officer and have two people on paper similar in stats and extracurriculars, wouldn't you take the one your alumni has recommended than the other one whom you do not know in person?

Interviews are not required, but considered if you have one.

Thank you hello12 and arcadia...I do hope the interview helps because Midd is my top choice.

i had an interview today..it was great...its just like having a conversation with your friend..its fun!
