I was just contacted this morning regarding an interview. Is it normal for these to be so close to the time when decisions are made? I am still going to have it, of course, it’s just that most of my other interviews were in the fall.

Interviewer reports should have been submitted by 1st Mar, so this interview probably shouldn't affect your decision. Probably a gesture of the alumni network to let you know more about Brown. But heck, you'd never know what's going on in the adcoms minds.

He said that he was just contacted by Brown, which made me think that it might still go towards admissions. Does anyone know if they have already made decisions and they are just waiting to send them out?

Seems like the interview process can be very haphazard...

With my D's interview, the interviewer e-mailed the day before, saying she'd be in town for a few hours the next day and to contact her cellphone number asap if the students wanted to interview with her. I'm not sure, but I think several students mentioned in the mass e-mail probably couldn't make it since it was on such short notice.

D liked the interviewer a lot (said she was a lot like herself), but didn't agree with the last minute scheduling of it.
