<p>I don’t think I would have minded if the AO had evaluated all her creds, then said, she’s not what we’re looking for. But I think he put the cart before the horse and based his pronouncement on what he thought he knew from a short conversation. Agree that he embarrassed himself, not my daughter. Nothing against SPS, and I could be wrong, but my impression was that my daughter was too diverse for the school. Don’t get me wrong, she was conservatively dressed and groomed in navy; but my sense at the time is that they are mostly white bread with a little bit of URM. Choate on the other hand celebrates diversity with about 40% being students of color.</p>
<p>Just to add, in light of his making a faux pas and rushing to judgment without the evidence to back it up, one is left to speculate which I think backfires on the image the school is trying to project, as thoughtful and critical thinkers.</p>
