If you receive an interview on site, what are the chances of getting the internship position (at a big company)?

Do they usually call a bunch of people in to interview, and only pick a few?
I'm not quite sure, since expenses such as flight, hotel, and food are paid by the company.

Companies such as Goldman Sachs doesn’t seem to mind. They interviewed over 100 candidates for the final round Operations Internship and only a handful of those were accepted and only one out of 6 from this board. So I don’t think they mind the cost.

So you wouldn’t consider the visit as “sealing the deal”? More like bouncing money around?

BTW, this company I’m getting called in for is Lockheed Martin.
