I recently got contacted by an alumni and in the email, he stated that I should dress casually.

Should I? And are we trying to impress them with our knowledge of the school? Is he going to write a note to the college regarding how well the 'interview' went?

haha, I have an interview tomorrow as well--during my study hall IN school. Tomorrow is also the day of our big "powederpuff" game where all of the girls dress up as football players and play the neighboring town, so I will be interviewing in spandex and war paint!

It's really more for us to ask questions. They do send a report, but it's more like "__is a good kid" and not so much an evaluation of your fit or anything. I've never heard of anybody getting a bad "review"

yeah I have mine monday, and I'm not really worried about what to wear since I have a uniform anyways. The alumni who contacted me said it would be informal and I'd get to ask her questions.

Ragingfire- definitely dress casual, but not TOO casual with the whole ripped jeans and explicit shirt deal. Polo Shirt and Khakis like tun said... nice preppy stuff I guess..hahha

oh yeah, if he said specifically to dress casual, it would be kind of rude to ignore him and go all out with a suit and tie IMO

^ from the response of this thread I don't think it's necessary to dress like you're going to a dinner party : )
In addition, you are meeting at starbucks so I'm guessing it's to achieve a lax environment?
I have my meeting on Sunday.. good luck to everybody who is going through it too!

Yup, I just had mine today. I wore a polo shirt and long jeans. I think it went pretty well...the only negative part was that I went too informal and talked about tangent stuff. It also took over an hour....but i hope i left a good impression. ..i think i did.

BTW, now that I've finished the interview, there's a next step. The thank you note. Anyone know how to properly write an email? and when should i do so?
