Interview Outfit Emergency! Help!

<p>I have a major school interview tomorrow, and I just feel like hitting my head against a book, because I'm such an idiot! I have an outfit that my mom and I just got today, but I always get "blank" when shopping, so I didn't speak up about it. I was very comatose. </p>

<p>ANYWAYS, the outfit I have picked out isn't formal enough, I think! Although, I do own about five suits and two dresses, though these suits/dresses aren't the best, and I use them for a thing I do on a weekly basses. Overall, these outfits I use when I don't care how I look as long as I look formal enough that I don't get marked down in points (I'm not going to explain the point thing, ha-ha)</p>

<p>I'm going to an off-campus thing, and there is no time for a new outfit. </p>

<p>The outfit I currently have is like a trench coat jacket (I'm interviewing in the north, it's cold)
with black skinny jeans, and a yellow knitted-appearance shirt that is tight with a red belt in the middle. It looks really nice, but now I'm reading to dress in an actual dress! I'm panicking! </p>

<p>The interview is for Hotchkiss.</p>

<p>Any advice?</p>

<p>I recommend against wearing jeans of any kind. Even it they are black, unfaded, and “nice”. In the eyes of adult interviewers they are still jeans (=casual). Remember that you are trying to impress an adult, and not one of your teenage peers. </p>

<p>Don’t go dressed more casually than the school’s dress code. The objective is to convince the interviewer that you will fit in at the school.. Better to err on the side of formality.</p>

<p>I’m not sure, but doesn’t Hotchkiss have a formal dress code?</p>

<p>Also, for all applicants in this year’s and future classes…I caution you not to mention the school or date of your interview(s)…especially before the event itself.</p>

<p>Thanks for everything. I was able to do a last minute switch around. My sister helped too, she has done the interviews before, and as soon as she saw my outfit she booted mom and helped me herself. Gotta love the big sister. </p>

<p>Also, thank you for the warning about mentioning my interview school date and such. I am aware, and I am extremely careful :-)</p>
