Hey everybody. I'll be interviewing at rice thursday morning and then staying overnight I just had a couple quick questions about my first college interview. What should I bring? A resume? Anything else? I've gotten the impression that the interviews aren't too formal buy maye I'm wrong. Any questions that caught some people by suprise? Any tips are appreciated. I've visited rice once before but was wondering if there is anything I should make sure to do on an overnight visit. I appreciate any help. Thanks - keane

They are not formal at all. It never hurts to bring a resume, so I would recommend it. Be prepared, as always, to elaborate on your resume and explain what you did in detail.

Just enjoy yourself on the trip. This is college, not a Investment Banking interview. They expect people to be college kids and most interviewers are seniors as well.

Don’t be too rigid or “professional”. Be yourself. Good luck!

Bring a resume and be yourself. My Rice interview was very informal–we had coffee. Now I didn’t interview on campus, but the people in admissions are most concerned with who you are as a person!

Also- Come to “Lunch with a current student” at noon!
