I saw on the WFU website that the last day to submit an interview request form was Dec. 15, so I hurriedly submitted a form because I feel that an interview would improve my chances for Regular Decision. I'm from the West Coast, so I was happy to see that they had a webcam interview option. However, the form also asked about my visiting the campus, as if it was required with the interview. My family can't afford to visi the campus, and if we could, what would be the point of a webcam interview? I really hope they won't expect me to be able to visit if I interview via webcam.
Has anyone dealt with this?

The form isn’t very conducive to students doing the online webcam. However, visiting is not a requirement nor do they hold it against you. I submitted the form for the webcam and everything worked perfectly. However, some of the questions are hard to answer because you aren’t visiting the campus. But it all works out and they will contact you.

Thank you so much! That puts my mind at ease. Just curious, what kinds of things do they ask? Was there anything that was really out of left field or that I should be particularly prepared to answer?

^ I second that question haha. I have an upcoming skype interview and I’m really curious about what I should be prepared for!

It really depends on who you get. When I had my interview she asked me a lot about how I matured throughout my high school years, personally and in school. She asked me about the books i have read, about current events, and pounded 5 different questions about why I wanted to go to WF and what would I bring to the table.

On the other hand, some of my friends got different people and their interviews were centered on their family and personal stuff.

But make sure you have and answer for why you want to go to wake and what will you do there and stuff like that because everyone of them will ask that

None of the questions are that bad. They aren’t trying to trip you up. However, they will ask some questions that will really make you think. The “hardest” question I received was "Which book character from Brave New World (I just told her that it was one of my favorite books, which it is) do you most identify with? I was at a loss to answer, after all, I don’t succumb to life’s ‘soma’ yet I don’t revolt against mainstream either. So I ended up answering by saying which character from any book I identify with. She seemed fine with my answer. I think as long as they see your personality they’re fine.

Thanks everyone! I just confirmed my interview time today and am looking forward to showing WFU how interested I am in going there! :)

Also make sure that when they ask you if you have any questions about Wake, that you HAVE a few questions.
