Interview Question!!!

Hi guys. I am getting a bit worried that I haven't received an email asking me to interview yet. I submitted my application on the 25th and live in an area with a very active alumni network. Some of my friends who have applied found out about an interview a lot sooner than I have. One of my friends applied to Penn the day after me, but got an interview request on Monday. When can I expect to hear from an interviewer? I'm bugging out!

Interviews aren’t guaranteed, and not all applicants within a given region (even in a strong alumni region) get called for one. But that’s not a positive or a negative.

Admissions hasn’t done any deep sleuthing yet re: applications…they aren’t hand-picking them because they’re better or worse than others.

You’re not better or worse in the admissions dept’s eyes (at least not yet) than any applicant that got a call for an interview.

That said, don’t sweat it — although we all realize you probably will!

They apply to you IL9. IvyParent basically sums it up

ivyparent43 summed it up very well. The process, to the extent of my knowledge, is random in terms of who gets assigned an interview – nothing in your application affects that.

Please also keep in mind that some alumni are probably just busy and haven’t had the time to sit down and compose an email to their assigned interviewees. We’re working on it though!
