Interview question

Just wondering, if at this point I have not gotten an interview while some peers at my school have, is it a pretty safe bet that I’m just not getting in?

No that doesn’t mean anything. Trust me, every applicant will have an interview if there is an available interviewer in the area.

I know that’s what they say but it seems a little hard to believe, especially considering all the people who got the special last minute interviews. Clearly those interviews are different in that they are used for candidates who are very likely to be admitted. Another example is the second interview, which can be used for applicants they’re on the fence about. Plenty of applicants get in with only one interview at the regular time, but I don’t know of any who get in with no interview in a location where others ARE getting interviewed. If they really wanted to admit an applicant like me, they certainly could have found a way to interview me, and it seems like they do for many others in the form of those second interviews and late in the cycle interviews. I don’t think Harvard is being entirely honest with the applicant pool.
