Do you have to Submit Part 1 of your application before you contact your alumni interviewer?

Or do you go into the interview without the alumni knowing ANYTHING about you?

You do not have to submit Part 1 first, and even if you do, the interviewer does not know anything about you when you go into the interview (at least, I am pretty sure my interviewer had not seen my Part 1 even though I did submit it before having the interview). Hehe, therefore, be prepared for a first question of "Tell me about yourself" - at least, that was the first thing my EC asked me.

All my EC knew about me was my name, address, and email.

My son had only submitted part one of the application, and took a resume with him, but the interviewer didn't want any of that info, just wanted to base everything he submitted on the interview.

when i requested an interview with my EC, i hadn't submitted Part 1, and he basically said I had to submit it before I could get an interview scheduled

it may not be true for every EC though

My interviewer knew what high school I go to

That is becuase the interviewers are assigned based on high schools..I noticed this during the MIT presentation in the bay area..

I am an interviewer. I see nothing, absolutely nothing, of what any applicant sends to MIT. But that isn't a bad thing. If the admissions interview is any good, it will probably cover stuff that isn't elsewhere on the application anyway.

DS was asked to bring a resume. The interviewer looked at it briefly, and they leaped into an animated chat. No worries.
