I have one last interview with Mercersburg in three days. For past/current students or parents of students at Mercersburg, what were some of the questions asked during the interview?
I am also very nervous because the admission office told me I would be interviewing with the dean of enrollment management.
Ask about things that are important to you. I mean it makes no sense to ask about travel programs if you have no interest in that, or the arts if you don’t have an artistic bone in your body. Ask yourself what do you want to know about the school then ask the interviewer about that stuff.
OP, take a breath! The folks at M’berg are really nice. They want to have a conversation with you, not an interrogation. Whatever they ask, it’s to get to know you better, not to find a reason not to admit you.
So while I don’t know exactly what they’ll ask, it could be about what you like to read, what subjects you like, why you want to go to BS, what you like to do with friends, etc.
Also, it is common for the head of enrollment management to be part of the process. Everyone in the office pitches in. There’s no additional pressure because of this.
The people at Mercersburg are all super nice. Be yourself during the interview. We are still getting to know the school, but we left feeling like it was a very warm place. Good luck!
I remember them asking me about my favorite books, and also the majority of the questions focused on my social life or relationship with my family, friends, teachers, etc. But I really think it depends on the interviewer. Anyways good luck with your interview and just be yourself!
Oh! This means you will be meeting with Mr. Chatterton which trust me is a great thing! He is one of the nicest, kindest people we met in the boarding school interview process. If I could handpick a person for you to meet, it would be him!! Truly you can just be yourself and enjoy your visit.
If you have any questions let me know or DM me if you want to DM the IG of any of my three daughters who are there and in the blue key (admissions/tours).
Let me know how it goes!!
