I know nothing about U of C is common, but what are some...hmmm..."typical" questions that are usually asked at alumni interviews?

PS - the early action thread makes my head spin

I don't think there are standardized interview questions. Here are a few questions you should be able to answer, though:

What is your favorite subject and why?

What do you like to do for fun?

What's the last book you read? What did you think of it?

What current events issues do you care about?

Why do you want to attend the University of Chicago? (If your answer has only to do with prestige and an urban environment, your interviewer is probably going to ask you why specifically Chicago should admit you, as opposed to Columbia, Harvard, or Penn).

Do you have any career plans in mind?

Why do you like the core curriculum?

Describe a time you overcame a challenge. (Typical interview question)

How would your friends describe you? What are your strengths and weaknesses. (Try to be a little bit more specific than just, "I'm a good student." All of us are good students!)

What questions do you have about the U of C? (YOU SHOULD HAVE QUESTIONS!)
