interview- really that important?

i had my interview today and it couldnt have gone better. my stats arent perfect, but very good. the interviewer basically told me i was the best person he has had in his 5 years of doing interviews and that he would "do all in his power to get me accepted" he also gave me his business card and told me to call him in april when i get the acceptance letter.

haha i am not as confident as he is. do you think he has anychance of really altering my chances of being accepted?

any opinion appreciated :)

wow, what did you guys talk about?

Lucky kid! Why else would they have interviews if they were not to have an affect on the admissions decision?

My interviewer told me that his comments wouldn't count for that much, but I'd imagine if your interviewer were that enthusiastic, it would count a lot in your favor.

If you're borderline, the interview could tip things in your favor. If you didn't hit it off though, it won't really count against you. At least this is what I've been told...

ares -

well it was so strange. the guy and i had so much in common. for example, he is going to positano this summer with his family ( a little town in italy). i was there this summer. his favorite sport is basketball as is mine. he is conservative as i am. he is lawyer, something i want to be. he pretty much agreed with me on everything about princeton (the fact that it is geared much more towards undergrads than other ivies) he did economics and knww badnarke and the rest of the staff.
we talked aboiut the architecture. we both agreed that the acrhitect they have chosen for the new additions is too 'overthetop.'

etc, etc. it was really good and the fact that he said ill get in makes my life much easier, for now

Wow! That's awesome! I was supposed to have my interview today, and my interviewer didn't show up. She said some emergency came up but I have a sneaking suspicion she probably forgot, lol. Hopefully that'll work in my favor? It's great that your interviewer said that though, you should feel pretty good right about now, hehe.

haha yeah...except for the fact that it is the 2nd most selective school in the country! other than that, im great

i thought pton was 1st.... what's 1st, hvard?

I think first is MIT although I'm not too sure on my facts there.

vpat is correct. mit is most selective followed by princeton

harvard sucks anyway for undergrad. princeton, i would say, is the best possible undergrad education in the world.....im sure all of you agree with me :)

My interviewer and I had many things in common, too. Maybe the committee deliberately picked like-minded people?
