So my title says it all. I was contacted today for an interview. I noticed that someone else posted that they received one yesterday in another thread but thought the issue could use some visibility. Does anyone have any knowledge of what this means?

Stats:

Bad GPA, like 3.6 uw but what shows up is 4.1 W

780 M 800 CR 710W 790 Chem, 800 Math 2

Ehh essays. I'm not a writer.

Such a late interview would suggest either an absentminded alumni or an admissions office that has requested more information about your application. Given your relatively low GPA and high SAT scores, I think the latter is a possibility.

Woot, I still have a chance. Thanks for affirming that my delusions are somewhat grounded.

The woman I heard from said it was the day before she had a dead-line (this was several weeks ago). But she was the one interviewer for my whole school so maybe it works differently…

Well the interview is in a week so does anyone know when the alumni interview deadline is?

I feel like it is because she was late but I don’t understand how she can send in the report in March if decisions come out in late March.

The alumni interview deadline WAS February 20. I’m sure there are exceptions, but you’re right… it’s quite late.

Had you requested it? If not, maybe they noticed that you had impressive stats and they wanted to know more!

I requested an alumni interview January 3rd so that might be it. I am a black math/science girl so that gives my stats a boost but other than that I have nothing extraordinary. I hope this means they’re still considering me.

My un-educated guess is that they are. But don’t take my word for it! :)
