I have a habit of not answering numbers that I don't know (don't we all?)
I have had about four different numbers calling in the last two weeks
I checked the area codes afterwards and while two were somewhere around Virginia and Vermont
Two were in my neighborhood

Here's my question:
Do interviewers/alumnis leave voice mails or simply hang up if applicants don't answer the phone, say, four times in a row?

ALL this time I thought Yale EA did not give out interviews...

I'm too scared to call the number back.

Please let them leave voice mails, so I know none of them was for interview.

Only a little more than two weeks to endure, and I have friends who already got into U Penn. Anxious.

I would think that they'd leave a voicemail (mine did!) but if they thought they'd just try again later and their calls didn't go through 4 times in a row, I would think that I had the wrong number or something.

Don't worry - interviews don't count for much anyway and no one would hold it against you if you didn't have an interview. And it's not like they would think you intentionally ignore their calls...

I'm sure that had you known it was a Yale interviewer, you would have picked up. But they have no way of knowing that perhaps you had forgotten your cell phone in a desert while you were out saving starving children.

You did let the calls go to voicemail, right? You didn't just hang up without answering them? If they want to voicemail, I would expect them to leave a message.

I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number either so my interviewer ended up leaving a message and emailing me! I'm sure if an interviewer did try to contact you, he/she would have left a message. Besides, interviews are not an enormous aspect of your application since not everyone is guaranteed one. Don't worry =]
