Not long ago I was contacted for an interview session at 4:00 am, even thought I applied for CAS and it doesn't have interviews. I thought that was pretty strange, especially since i live in Shanghai, China. Plus I hate interviews since I get nervous. Any advice?

Based on the information you gave, I assume this is over the phone?

I would just do it. I doubt it would reflect badly upon you if you explained your situation and that you couldn’t do it, but it would only look good if you did do it. You might want to try to make it a different time, though.

yeah this is by phone, i misheard 10 am to 4 am though, since the words sound very similar. I didn’t ask for an interview though, but I guess ill go then.

its probably because you are a legacy.

weirdly enough, I got a call too…but I live in the US and I’m not a legacy, athlete, anything. I thought interviews were exclusively for hotel & CoE?

The Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassadors Network (CAAAN) offers optional “interviews” to Cornell applicants, provided alumni volunteers are available in your area. This is separate from the formal admissions interview required of Hotel and AAP applicants.

yeah, it has nothing to do with legacy…i think my classmate also did one; i did it it was pretty dissapointing but oh well

How was it pretty disappointing?

well it wasn’t really an interview but more about talking about Cornell, which isn’t really that helpful since I did alot of research anyways; the guy was in a way different college than the one I’m applying to so there wasn’t much to talk about that I guess, lol.
