My son completed his Early Action application a few days ago but has not heard back from anyone regarding an interview. I know that in the past it was up to the applicant to get in touch with an EC via email, but that process has changed this year. Just curious how long the waiting time is, to hear from an EC, after submitting an application?
2 weeks have passed since submitting his application and my son has not heard from an EC about scheduling his interview. He also sent an email to interview@mit.edu and got an automated email response but no real answer yet.
This is from the calendar section of the Educational Council website:
October
…
• In early October the list of applicants will become available. ECs can start reaching out to applicants who have submitted both Part 1 and Part 2. You are able to monitor the application status of your assigned applicants …
November
• Nov. 1: Deadline for Early Action applicants.
• Interviews will continue to take place in the first weeks of November.
• Nov. 19: All interviews for Early Action applicants will be due.
Your son is not obviously assigned to me (I probably check my list of assigned applicants and assigned prospective students every 2-3 days and nobody in my list has completed his or her Part 1 and 2).
@agapetos Thank you very much for sharing the information.
My son completed Parts 1 & 2 of his application over 2 weeks ago so I would’ve thought that at least he would hear from an EC by now. He is waiting patiently, and hoping to be contacted by an EC soon.
