Hi guys,
my interview situation is that I received an email from the Undergrad Admissions Office saying that I should expect to be contacted by X to arrange an interview (Those words exactly) and If I do not hear from this interviewer in 2 weeks that I may contact my regional chairperson. A few weeks ago, I would have loved to take this opportunity to interview but more recently, I'm extremely busy with local university enrolment and orientation, so I am a bit hesitant to interview. If I decide not to contact my regional interview chairperson and end up not being interviewed, does this hurt me in any way, shape or form - if this is the case then I will definitely contact my regional chairperson.

More Info : I'm an international student and Princeton is definitely my first choice. Due to the differences in academic calendars we are allowed to start university locally and then withdraw if we are accepted to Princeton - otherwise I'd have no university for next year.

Lastly, Thanks for any input

Not getting an interview will never seriously hurt your application. But you are really missing a huge opportunity to communicate to the Princeton adcom. I was in the same position: was told I was going to be contacted, was not contacted in two weeks. I contacted the local chair, then the very next day was approached via email for a face-to-face interview. Just did the interview today, interviewer was VERY NICE and I think I made a really good impression + communicated a lot of things I had forgot/could not put on my application. Remember, most of the people these interviewers interview (redundant ik) are not very, well, competitive. My interviewer told me that everyone else she interviewed had little or no questions to ask her - she basically had to just tell them about Princeton. The interview is also an opportunity to get to know Princeton more. My interviewer gave me a personal, first-hand look at what learning at Princeton really means. If you end up being accepted, you can also talk to the interviewer again and have him/her give you reasons why you should go with Princeton. My advice: snap up that opportunity and take the interview, you won’t regret it.

Hey man just wanted to say that I appreciate the advice you gave me and I took it and will interview soon

Good luck! Don’t forget to tell us how it went =p (that is, if you didn’t completely blow the interview, which I’m sure you won’t haha)
