Do I need to wear a suit to the interview or can i just wear dress clothes?

Dress clothes.

I didn’t… but then again my interview was right after school…

My son wore a button down shirt and jeans to a meeting at Starbucks. His interviewer was also in jeans and wore a polo shirt. If you want to play it a little safer you could wear khakis. I think a suit and tie is overdoing it, but if you are meeting at someone’s office I might err on the slightly dressier end of things.

S2 had an interview w/an alum at a law firm. He went in full pips and honors.

Suit is definitely overdoing it. Khakis and a button down shirt is the way to go (not a polo). Look nice but not overdressed, although of course it depends where you’re meeting to a certain extent. If the interview is at a business or law office, then a tie might not be out of place.

If I’m meeting at Starbucks, would jeans and a sweater be too casual? I could swap the jeans for khakis, but I’d rather not.
