Interview this Late?

DD just received a call asking that she interview tomorrow. Is this unusually late?

haha wow! it's about two week from decision times! i'm pretty sure they're beginning to finalize decisions so i can't see much of an impact an interview this late in the game would have! sorry, but it probably won't change the decision harvard's probably already made on your daughter. Hopefully it was a posetive decision

well, yes, it is late. However, i wouldn't the fact that they offered an interview shows you that they're still making the decisions....i mean, they could have just denied you one. Maybe she's on of those borderline candidates that they're not sure about either way.

of course, that is a possibility. however, it is more likely that the applicant's interviewer was extremely slow in getting his/her job done and is at the end of the list of students he/she was supposed to interview

OK, I must warn you that I look at the world through rose colored glasses. I would interpret the late interview as an attempt to influence your daughter's decision as to where to attend college. I have no evidence to support this claim, but I thought it might make us feel better. (my daughter also had a late interview)

I had a late interview too

I would think of this as a really good thing! By now, they have winnowed the applicant pool to around 5,000-7,000 people (from 23,000) and are undergoing committee meetings. If they are still interested in you as an applicant, I would venture to say it's because your still alive in the admissions game. Good luck on the interview!

Is this her first or second interview with Harvard? If it's the second... buy her a cake for standing out of the crowd...

Inaina, it's her first interview.
