Alright, so I was contacted for an interview this weekend by an alumna and I am already stressing about it! Could any of you who has had an interview with the University of Chicago share your experiences? It would really ease my mind.

Also, you don't have to waste your time by saying the whole "You shouldn't be nervous - just be yourself!" bit. I wouldn't be nervous if I could be my whole self, but my whole self sometimes comes across as sarcastic and genuinely insane - and not in the good way.

Nevertheless, tips and stories would be appreciated. :)

Log into your Chicago account, and you can do it from there (there’s a link on the left). If you don’t have an account, instructions to create one should come after you submit your application.

@supernova: I’m in the same boat as you! (Mine is Saturday). I don’t really know what’s going to happen, or if it’s going to be like the 2 interviews I’ve had already, but I’m really nervous for this one.

I’ve never been in an interview before (my only job was as a soccer ref…no need for interviews for that), so you can only imagine how I will be before mine :(. Good luck to you all!

-and beatfreak, I’m fairly certain the deadline to schedule an interview was Monday, but they might have pushed it back.

Mine is next Monday and this will be my first interview…
The alumni is studying abroad in my city…
Is it weird to take my friends there? (because we go and leave school together…to lower the transportation fee)

Here’s my interview advice get someone to ask you some questions for practice. Be sure to have something to say for the inevitable “Do you have any questions for me?” Bring a resume, but you shouldn’t be alarmed if the interviewer says, “No thanks, I don’t need to see it.” We’ve had interviewers that wanted to see it, and others that definitely didn’t.
