Interview timing

This is the only school my son is considering (at the moment) that offers interviews. I have looked around but I am getting conflicting info on interviewing before or after you apply. Do the schools contact you after you apply, or do you need to pursue this on your own? We are planning to visit in December, but obviously it would be easier if they offer interviews in our area (MA) so that we could visit on the weekend.

When we visited in July, the admissions people said it is best to interview before your application is to be processed (ie before Nov. 1 if you are EA) so that the interview would be part of your file for the review. I do not believe they will contact you. Rather you have to contact them.

My D sent an email a couple weeks ago to ask about interviewing locally (since interviews were not available when we were there and we live in NM). At that time she received a reply that they were working on lining up alumni for interviews and that the information would be posted on their website soon. Haven’t seen anything yet…

Thanks, I did manage to find some info on the website. He is planning on RD so we are going to try to schedule a visit for November or December, they said just to make the arrangements at least a week early so there would be an interviewer available. But it will be nice to have the option to do it closer to home, trying to cut back on the missed school days.

If he’s applying RD, just make sure to schedule his interview after the ED deadline, that way they’ll be able to focus more on him and not on the other applicants!
