So i have an interview this weekend from a harvard alumni in a coffeeshop. I would freakin appreaciate if you guys could provide me with tips on how to get ready for the interview? what to do while in the coffeeshop? proper manners maybe? dress? what kind of questions they ask? and how to come off as the best? any advice really would be appreciated wholeheartedly. thanks!!!!!!!!!!

My interviewer was really friendly. He asked me to bring a resume of all my test scores, activities and classes. Basically, I talked about each of my activities, and why I want to attend Harvard. I was terrified going in to it, but I ended up really enjoying it. It was mildly awkward, though, when he asked me where else I had applied. I would say know why you want to attend Harvard, and what your activities and achievements mean to you. Be ready to talk about them in detail.

I wore corduroy pants, a black shirt, and plaid sweater. My mom was uber stressed about me looking presentable.

Good luck! I hope this helps!

Mine was at a starbucks and I wore jeans (nice skinny jeans though) but he didn't even have time to pay attention to my outfit. Really just make sure you know why harvard is the one and have questions ready so as to avoid umfortable silences. As to questions, its nothing horribly difficult, if you really are person your transcript says then you're good, your interviewer will probably ask you about your ec's and your favorite classes and maybe about your intended major.

If he didn't ask for one, am I supposed to bring a resume?

bumppppppppppppppp

also my interview is tommorow at a coffee shop, what things should i carry with me there? notebooks? transcripts and test scores etc? how did u guys prepare for it?

Hi ipod. Do not bring anything unless the interviewer asks you to. All Harvard interviewers begin the interview by asking your stats (SATs, ACTs, GPA, AP scores) as part of the standard procedure. Then they go on to extra curriculars and interests. They do not see your application, so they must rank you from what you say. The best way to prepare would be to pick out a couple things you like about each extra curric.
