interview: what questions to ask?

hey everyone,

i have a phone interview with UR soon. what are some good, smart questions to ask the interviewer? its only supposed to last 20 minutes, so i have the feeling its supposed to be me asking a lot of questions and making convos...? help! what questions did you guys ask?

Any questions you might have about majors/programs you're interested in. Questions about student life. Questions about costs and financial aid. What the weather is like in Rochester. In short--anything about the school you'd like to know.

You are not being judged on the quality of your questions.

Mostly the interview will be about you. Be prepared to talk about yourself, your interests and what you'd like to do at UR should you matriculate.

"You are not being judged on the quality of your questions."

that makes me feel much more relieved! i had the impression from others that students that coming up with smarter, "tougher" questions impresses the interviewer more. thanks! i definately have some great questions now!

I had my interview on campus. It was probably the best 30 minutes I spent doing anything college related, whatsoever. I loved it. The person I interviewed with was amazing and was a former student. It was basically about what both of our goals and the activities at rochester. I seriously cannot tell you how laid back and relaxing it was. I wish it was longer.

A tip is do your research before you go. It really shows that you like the school and want to attend. I knew a lot about my possible major and the actitivties they offered, even internships based on majors. I love Rochester, so finding these things out was just a part of the process before hand. It really shows that you are interested.

By the way, I do not think that I asked one question that I thought of before hand. It was scripted and thought out in advance. It was just natural. It worked for me. Relax and seriously just be yourself.
