Interview: Which location is better?

I just got emailed by a Penn alumnus for an interview. He suggested we meet either in his office or at a Starbucks, whichever is most convenient. I am not sure which one I prefer; I am still weighing both options. Which one would be the better choice?

I would go for Starbucks, just me. More laidback, I think. Then again, I had my interview at my interviewer’s “office.” He works at Microsoft so we ended up going to one of the huge cafeterias that Microsoft has for the interview/lunch.

Office - you make it easiest for them, not yourself.

I got offered to have a interview at Columbia Med Center (1 and a half hours away from my house). The guy said we could meet half way, but I’m not doing that. I want to give best impression and if that means wasting an entire day then so be it.

Stupid. Interview doesn’t really matter. Not worth killing yourself over.

It probably doesn’t matter. Starbucks will be more casual, so that’s probably what I would choose. I would make sure to ask him directly if he has any preference at all though
