Interview with Columbia University?

I just sent in my regular decision application to Columbia University. One of their students on the alumni/admissions committee emailed me requesting that I interview with them. Does this mean that my application stood out in any way, and they want to get to know me further? I can't imagine they ask to interview every one of the 30+ thousand applicants!

I also received a lot of emails from Columbia throughout the year, encouraging me to apply. Either way, I'm going to do the interview. Any comments or insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
