Interview...Yippee!!

My interview has now been set up for this wednesday at a local starbucks. Do you think it is better to wear what you would wear everyday, or to wear something dressy-casual?

lol.....where what you feel is right....of course, u might not want to come out looking tacky,...... jus look good, but casual....

Ok thats what I figured

I have read a lot on these threads that say dress casual to the interview, but I have heard other things. My dad's best friend, a Princeton interviewer, said he actually likes when kids dress up for the interview. While he doesn't hold it against kids that dress casual, he feels that kids that dress up are holding the admissions process with a certain esteem. It's not a big deal either way, just something you should think about.

nut it would seem a bit awhward wearing a tie, blazer, and dressy pants because of an interview....thats why i said good, but casual...

I think I know what im going to wear. Its going to be a nice button down dress shirt, no tie, tucked in with khaki pants. Im happy because my interview is basically across the street from my school.

yeah i believe thats fine... Shows that you taking the interview seriously like danman pointed out.... BTW, its better to be overdressed than underdressed...So your fine. Let us know how the interview goes....goodluck!

Ya I totally agree. I will report back once the interview is over. I really hope we all get in, everyone on here is so friendly, and it would be really cool to meet everyone in person. The only thing that is scaring me right now is that it seems like everyone who got accepted ED last year had a higher SAT score. The ones with my SAT score who were accepted seemed to be legacies or recruits.

yeah it WOULD be nice to see everyone on princeton cc in person. Dont worry, princeton doesnt necessarilly work by statistics as much as you think. You only saw a minimal fraction of people who got in last year. So just leave it to the adcoms...since you have already applied and theres really no change you can make anymore....

True. College Confidential is very humbling.

u kno!!! it was until i saw people's styats on cc... that I began to see myself as a mundane, ordinary, applicant number.lol Sometimes, I like to believe some people make up their scores, and ecs...I know it is lame, but thats the only way i console myself

Seriously!!! I came into CC with the notion that I was the top of the top because im at the top out of the applicants in my school. Seeing some people stats just kills me. Mainly the SAT scores. I think my ECs are fairly unique but some of the people on here make me want to cry. I just have to hope for the best. I think what will help is that im applying engineering and my essays are pretty good. Not many people apply early to Princeton engineering, especially Mechanical/Aerospace.

true.....but am also applyin engineering...lol....comp science - A.I and Robotics.

Engineering seems to be a bit popular for princeton..... :( unfortunately

girls - did any of you wear skirts to your interview? or is that too dressy?

My friend wore a skirt to hers.

Scratch the engineering theory then lol.

If you normally wear skirts when you go out, go ahead and wear one.
If you don't, then you don't have to.

I do. :) I am a skirt maniac.

Me too.
Well not all the time...
But I like them better =)

i had my interview yesterday in a local coffee shop
i wore a nice pair of jeans, black boots and a nice grey sweater so that i looked put together but not so much that im trying too hard
good luck!
