I interviewed today and had a great experience. I encourage everyone to go get an interview! It was my first and I think it went very well. A couple of times I was caught off guard because the interviewer kept pressing "WHY" and wanted me to go in-depth for um, everything... but overall I learned a lot about the school, he debunked some rumors for me, and I think I got a pretty good feel for the whole atmosphere of the school. Overall, enjoyable afternoon.

Did you interview on-campus? Were the questions weird? How did the interviewer make you feel at-ease? I'm glad it went well!

Yep I interviewed on campus... not weird questions at all. It was more just like a conversation with him steering the way a little. We talked a lot about geography since that's what I want to go into.

I don't really know why I felt at ease though... lol... I guess because there were no weird questions? And the guy was friendly so it made me comfortable, I guess. Plus, UChicago is a huge reach for me already, so I didn't go in thinking that I'd lose anything by the experience.

Excellent, I'm glad to hear the details. This reminds me of my informal interview last year. The admissions officer asked if I was the little brother of this other girl applying. I was not, so there was this awkward moment when the girl said "Er.." It was funny.
