interview!!!!!

is it required? would it be better if you visited the school got an interview there??

also, does visiting boost chances? can you estimate a percentage of the boost? (1%, 5%, etc)

I've been told that Wash U wants people who really want to be there, and a visit shows just that. I don't know percentages or anything, but I think it would boost your chances a bit.

Are you applying ED?

I applied to Harvard EA. While visiting the campus will show initiative and interest in the college, I doubt there's an actual numerical value given to your visit (as far as percentages go).
However, if you schedule an on-campus interview, you may leave a favorable impression. There is where I believe you boost your chances. When you visit, you're just another face in the crowd unfortunately. If you arrange an interview, and impress the admissions people - then you have slightly better chances!
I've read that applicants with both on and off-campus interviews do slightly better than applicants with just one (off-campus/a.k.a. alumni interview), or none at all. So if possible, try to arrange an interview if you plan to visit. I hope my advice has been somewhat helpful. Good luck to you!
