Interview

My application status says that my application is already on its way to the Second Reader. If my interview were to occur in the next couple of days, would it still be a factor?

Thanks.

VouloirPouvoir,

I would still recommend doing the interview. Even though your file has been reviewed by the first reader, the second reader might not review your file for another few weeks (unless you’re applying ED). After that, your application will enter a committee review. At one of those stages, your interview could still become a factor.

For everyone else, please realize that if you turn in your application prior to having an interview, you run the risk of not having your interview be a factor during the application review process. The sooner you can schedule your interview, the better!

For any current juniors reading this thread, we start offering interviews at the end of June. You can have an interview all the way up until January, but once again, the sooner the better!

What if a student had an interview at the university but not by an alum? Would you recommend having that second interview as well, even if the application is Early Notification?

Only sign up for an alumni interview if you didn’t make it to an on-campus interview.

We only want you to have one interview with a University of Rochester representative.

Thank you for the clarification!
