interview

have you guys been contacted for an alumni interview yet for the RD round? someone called my house for an interview but i wasn’t sure which university it was because i wasn’t home and my parents’ message taking skills are lacking.

me: so who called?
mom: an university.
me: WHICH UNIV?
mom: uh…her name was lena?

it was either brown or tufts.

That's so sad and hilarious.

Imagine going to the interview: "Hey Lena. What college are you from, again?"

no, i haven't been contacted by brown for an interview yet, and i know that my app's been complete for quite some time. :-/

That's really funny. If you can't figure out which college it was based on searching that college's website and looking for admissions reps in your area, you can do the embarassing thing: call the number, ask for Lena, and tell Lena what you told us, "Hi, my name is _____. I know this is kind of weird, but my mother took down a message from you without writing down which school you represent. It just so happens that I'm waiting to hear about interviews from two different schools right now, so could you enlighten me? Sorry about that!" It'll probably be a good ice breaker as long as you don't let her get too far into the conversation without letting her know.

haha, okay.

i have made my mom brush up on message taking skills though...
