Interview

When do people hear about if princeton scheduled an interview for them?

usually an alum calls or emails you after your app is processed

Has anyone had that happen or will it take a while. Just wondering if you dont recieve a call, should you take that as a sign you were rejected?

no. it just means they don't have enough interviewers in your area. they try to interview everyone who applies, and as far as i know, there is no preference as to who they interview and who they don't (first come first serve?).

no i think it's more random how the assignment goes (unless u submitted ur app way early...)

yea they call u, but u can also take the initiative (if u reallyyy want to) and email the head of ur region's alumni interviewer network. Just be real polite and not demanding. :] otherwise, waiting is fine cuz the admissions office says it may take up to 6 weeks to get a call starting from the beginning of january.

getalife, how do you get the email address of the head of your region's alumni network (I'm in Paris, France, and haven't been contacted for an interview yet...)? Thanks.

same question- just not from Paris

well i got the email address of my friend's Princeton interviewer, and contacted her politely, who then kindly contacted the head for me.... maybe it'll work out too in Paris?

but i want to add that i was sure i was going to get an interview since i lived in a heavily ivy populated area: not everyone does get a call for an interview. (which is fine)

Ok, thanks... I actually know two ppl from a school I used to go to who got into Princeton (class of 09) and who got interviewed in Paris (one of them at least), so I'll ask them if they have email addresses for their interviewers. If they do, I'll write a polite msg; I guess it can't hurt as long as I'm polite.

i emailed the alumni district person last month---who was very nice and cordial---and she assigned me an interviewer...

just haven't heard from them yet...

Two questions:

does everyone get the interview?

How important is the interview in your chances for admission?

not everyone, depends on location and amount of alumni available

not very, keeps up appearances for alumni to feel connected and/or the applicant to have the novelty of the process

i was contacted on Jan 3..and i submitted my forms online Dec 28th....i was quite impressed w/ that haha
