My interviewer asked me mostly about my academics and barely talked bout my extracurriculars or what I like. My interview lasted short and the other interviewees also said the same. Would that affect my application ?
Depends on what you mean by “short.”
Sounds like you didn’t get the best interviewer. I wouldn’t worry about it though. From what I can tell, interviews don’t have a huge impact on their decision, and they’ll be able to tell the difference between a poorly conducted interview with a good candidate and a well conducted interview with a bad one.
No, it will not impact your application. Your chances are slim no matter what.
Well it lasted half an hour but he asked me for 10 minutes my sat scores with all the subscores, my class rank, majors, GPA and he didn’t even give me the opportunity to elaborate on my extra-curriculars and passions
your bluntness is uncalled for @3puppies. I am sure they know what their chances are.
That’s certainly one of the shorter interview times I’ve heard. Not sure it means much. My younger son’s was about 35 - 40 minutes, and seemed somewhat perfunctory. Nonetheless, he was admitted.
Agreed, @Tperry1982 I did not mean to be so blunt. I meant to say EVERYONE’s chances are slim, so OP should not be worried about this.
@wanredbul , there are several threads about interviews, so don’t let this discourage you.
Can someone tell me if this is standard? School official came to kid’s class today and told him he was being interviewed in 1 hour. An interview with alum. Never contacted until today. This seems odd, is it? .
