Interview

I went to Cornell for a visit few weeks ago and admission person there said that interview is optional for engineering and that it doesn't affect your admission chance. (but they said you have to it for hotel school)

I knew that interview was optional, but I thought you SHOULD do it cause they might be suspicious and take it as a negative if you don't do it (unless you live somewhere far far away).

But that admission person said that they don't even know whether I did a interview or not. And that it doesn't affect your admission chance AT ALL.

Is it true? or were my ears just messed up or something..

is there an optional interview for arts and sciences as well?

I think the interview does matter a little. If you are average nothing will change. If ur interviewer absolutely LOVES you then they will probably tell Cornell. If they hate you they will probably tell too.

I think you are partly looking at interviews the wrong way. Some colleges just see it as a way for you to get to know the college, not as a way for the college to get to know you.

But anyways, best of luck in admissions.

you should totally do the interview. here's what i suggest:

rent a giant lobster outfit to wear to the interview (like the one in that cell phone ad). when you show up, look the guy in the eye and shake his hand. then turn your back to him and walk to the other side of the room and look around, bewildered, and say: "does something in here smell like dead fish?" then run to the window, look out and scream "the tide is going out! the tide is going out!". then run out the door. make sure you slam it hard.

you'll be so totally in... trust me.

hahhaahhah I was kinda suprised that that post turned out to be funny. nice
