I didn't see any recent topics related to interview so I started a new thread. I was wondering if not interviewing could hurt my chances of getting into JHU. I think I'd do okay in an interview and who knows, maybe I would even really impress somebody, but it seems like an added stress that I would feel a lot more comfortable forgetting about. Would this decision make me seem a lot less interested in JHU? Also, if I am offered an alumni interview (even if I don't ask for one,) would itbe a bad decison to turn down the offer?
Thanks in advance.

Bottom line, it won't hurt your chances if you decide not to interview.

Read the following thread:

"Interviews are an optional part of the admissions process. More informative than evaluative, they provide prospective students and applicants with an opportunity to meet one-on-one with an admissions representative. Discussions typically address your academic background, goals, interests, and what you would contribute to the campus community. Your interviewer will also answer your questions, share experiences, and offer his or her own point of view about Hopkins."

Read this as simply interviews are an option that have little to no impact in the application review stage. The decision to interview or not to interview will not in any way impact your "chances for admission."

Thank you for the responses.

I didn't interview and I was accepted, if that's any help. If you live somewhere near campus it wouldn't hurt though.
