Has anyone gone to the interview yet? How was it–conversational/informal, just getting to know you better, a chance to highlight things on the app, learn more about Brown…
just curious

Mine was mostly a chance to learn about Brown and for the interviewer to find good things to say about me.

How do you get an interview? Do they just randomly decide who will get one or not? Or do you have to fill out a(nother) form for it?

When I had my interview last year my interviewer told me not to worry about what to wear. I was late on account of a druggie and having gotten lost not to mention that I was wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Once we connected, it was a very casual type affair and most of the time was spent discussing common interests -- In my case, it was discussing the JFK assasination on the 40th anniversary. I don't recommend the t-shirt/jeans bit but my interviewer didn't seem to mind as I did get in.

Brown contacts an alum in your area who then contacts you.

What kind of questions do they ask? My interview is coming up, and I'm a little scared.

DONT WORRY. i was SO scared for my interview. dress to impress but dont be nervous. its way informal, and all it really is is a chance for you to be able to put a face to Brown, and for you to get a(nother) person to fight for you in the admission process. its just like "what are you studying this year," "what do you like to do with your free time," "what would you want to study at brown," and then you get to ask them a bunch of questions. and make sure to have questions to ask that arent mundane or silly things you can find on the website.

its not bad at all!

I had my interview a month ago. It was really informal and the interviewer just looked over my resume and asked me a few questions...like why i wanted to go, what i knew about brown, and what i wanted her to write in her letter (anything that i had left out of my application). She didn't spend that much time asking me questions, so I asked questions for about an hour. It wasn't that bad though, my interviewer was really nice and really encouraging...good luck everyone!

MAKE SURE you have questions to ask

what type of questions did u guys ask?
