im nervous...

I'm not getting one. I'm a girl and if I did get one I would have worn a skirt and a nice sweater top with simple shoes. Semiformal, basically.

I had one last year, didn't get in, and I have another one in about 3 hours. They're pretty laid back. All they really ask you is stuff that wasn't on you application; stuff about your life outside of high school.

I'm a guy. and I wore slacks, a button up shirt, fairly nice shoes, and this sweet corderoy (sp?) blazer I had.

i just had my interview this morning! i wore khakis and a sweater.
it was pretty laid back, although it helped that my interviewer was my best friend's neighbor. she asked for a defining moment in my life... that was difficult. but mostly she wanted to know what i'm passionate about. it lasted over an hour. don't be nervous (although i definitely was), it's really not as bad as you think it will be.

i interviewed on friday. I wore a suit. go to collegeboard.com and they have a list of the sort of questions asked.

I had an on-campus interview, do you want those questions as well?

Are the on-campus interviews just as good? Cause I had one too and I think that might be a reason I'm not (or at least haven't yet) gotten an Alumni interview (I live in Philadelphia, so there'd be a lot of Applicants and few alumni). Or do the Alumni Interviews mean something more?

do u think its ok if i wear my school uniform?
plaid skirt, yellow oxford button shirt, navy tights, saddle oxfords, and a yale sweatshirt? or is that too casual? its on a school night so it would make sense i was wearing my uniform

I think you could definitely wear that, but I would drop the Yale sweatshirt. Doesn't it make it seem a little forceful? Or something along those lines? I don't know. It just seems like the kind of thing that could be taken the wrong way. That's all.
Good luck. :)

the sweatshirt may or may not be a good idea. i interviewed for another college (not going to say which one, since i lovelovelove yale much more than it) and i didn't know what my alum interviewer looked like. I got to my interview early, wore the sweatshirt for that college and sat in plain sight, and the guy easily found me when he walked in. it's a good identifier, if nothing else. :)

Okay. So if you're meeting your interviewer somewhere, then maybe the sweatshirt works out. But if he has no need to identify you, then it really just seems not-right, IMHO. It's really up to you in the end. And it kind of depends on the situation of your interview.
