<p>It is both. My D had her interview today and her alumni interviewer actually asked her what she wanted him to say about her to help her get in. Even though they do write a report about the interview, they're not interviewing you as a critique, but rather to help you know the school better and vice versa. They just want to get to know you as a person and reflect that back to the collge. Usually interviews have a relatively small impact in your application package. My advice is to be prepared to answer some questions and to ask just as many. Be yourself, relax and enjoy the opportunity to show Rice another side of you. Dress nicely and be enthusiastic, you'll do great!</p>
