Interview

What is the interview like? What type of questions do they ask? Why type of questions should the person being interviewed ask? Also, any other helpful tidbits you'd like to add.

The interview is a chat between an adult and a child.

The adult indirectly asks deep questions. They might ask: what activities are you interested in? Which is your cue to start talking fanatically about the school chess team (which you are on, of course)

The questions you should ask shouldn’t be too superficial, or too deep. If you ask things too superficial, they might sense you haven’t fully decided whether you are going to go or not, or they might just think you want to know more about the school. If you ask deep things “How has your time at ___ changed your life?” They might think that you’re comparing the schools, or they might just think you’re a really serious kid, and applaud your for that.

a previous thread said something about how an interview should start as a q&a and end as a conversation between you and your interviewer.
