Interview

Everyone's always saying things like ask lots of questions a be yourself, so I was wondering, what kind of questions should I be asking?

trust me, you understand how an interview works in the first five minutes you start one. i usually found that the more well-known or elite the school was, the more professional the interviewers felt (in a good way, as in they made you feel comfortable and not feel like a total idiot. none of my interviewers were stiff, we shared a lot of weird jokes, even with an old, very prestige-serious looking man who apparently worked at one of the top 3 schools before moving to the place i was interviewing)

they usually ask you what you're interested in. always mention the little details that you love about it. i highly doubt they will consider that annoying, unless it seem so scripted you had a speechmaker write it for you. it shows the extent of how much you enjoy whatever you do. i also mentioned my family a lot because i really love my awesome grandparents, and looking back i guess that shows family unity, a sort of things schools (and most people in general) like about a potential applicant.

typically it's what classes you have (all my schools asked me this), what clubs are you involved in, etc. but they're more lead questions to get you settled into what to talk about. it's very "why" and "how".
even if you aren't a "leader" which i was always afraid of (like because i had no leadership positions really, but rather was a "member", i thought i would have nothing to talk about), it is always good to talk about whatever you're doing.

trust me, after five minutes of your first interview you know how things really go. after your whole interview you've pretty much mastered the art of interviewing. seriously.

I am not involved in any clubs :( My school doesn't have any I'm really interested in.

wetwinz120 - it's ok....as with community service, schools do not expect you to have been involved in a million things. Just talk about what you are interested in, something you are passionate about. Even if it is knitting (no offense to the knitters in the world, I used to knit myself and my mom does, it's just an example). Be excited about what you knit, how long you've done it, etc.
Do you have any hobbies? Doesn't have to be related to school at all.

Also this link has been posted before but is worth a re-post. It is from St. George's School, but is great for any school.

I am not involved in any clubs My school doesn't have any I'm really interested in.

^ I've been there XD what do you love to do? even if it's knitting, like linda s said

I think I'm going to mention my odd fetish with duct tape, just because for me, if's a form of expression. I make purses, hats, whatever out of it, and I can fully talk about it with passion.

Odd, yes. Good topic for me, YES!

but don't call it a fetish....icky connotations

I won't in the interview, that's just the simplest way to describe it qhile quickly typing. :)

It's just a strang intrest I happen to posess. :D

Nice save hahaha

Bows

Yes, I'm good aren't I?

Just kidding around there.

So, just as a clarification, duct tape isn't too wierd to bring up?

You could bring one of your items with you - show and tell :)

That's what I was thinking PhotoOp...bring an item with you - I'm guessing you are a girl, so bring a duct tape purse, it will certainly start the conversation!

Ha, ok, I'll make one to match my outfit of the day. :)

ahah thats actually really cool :)

That's an awesome idea to make a matching duct tape purse. That's unique.

Just a quick question, how do you color them? I've never seen colored duct tape.

Oh, and how long does it take?

You should make an online shop.
;)

Just a quick question, how do you color them? I've never seen colored duct tape.

^ Colorific. You've gotta love em :)

Home Depot around here sells duct tape in red, black, green, orange and a few other colors I think.

Home Depot where I am doesn't sell colored tape, but Wal Mart does.

I buy Duck brand Duct Tape. They have some neat colors.

As for how long it takes, it just depends on whatever I'm making.

I've posted a few of my stuff online. I tried making anew site and never got around to updating it so there's only four things. ducttapecreations on deviantART

I've made more though.

OH CRUD, I just remembered, all but one if not all of my interviews are over the phone. DARN IT!

i loooove your duct tape stuff!!! They're sooooo cool!! lol how do you make the purses? do you use them when you're out somewhere??

Musicallylatin~

How are creative you are! I am impressed!:)
